Manarat Al Saadiyat – a place of enlightenment

Situated in the heart of Saadiyat Cultural District, Manarat Al Saadiyat has been a haven for the city’s major cultural events since it opened its doors in 2009. With a name that translates as “a place of enlightenment”, this renowned arts institution hosts a year-round calendar of temporary exhibitions, live performances and community events including theatre workshops, yoga classes, art classes, comedy nights, film screenings and educational activities. The site also features an outdoor events terrace, café and restaurant, three galleries, photography studio and art studio, and an auditorium that seats up to 250 people. The art galleries showcase local and international exhibitions where visitors can learn about the UAE’s rich heritage and its vision for the future.

    Tucked beneath the magnificent Jean Nouvel-designed floating cupola, this open-air terrace and bar at the Louvre Abu Dhabi offers some of the best sunset views in Abu Dhabi. Visitors can contemplate the works they have seen accompanied by a menu made up of international tapas and light bites, as well as an extensive drinks menu.

    Manarat Al Saadiyat offers an outdoor area with a terrace that is the perfect setting for events and activities. This space offers a unique location for a multitude of events including outdoor yoga, alfresco dining, corporate events and private social events.
  • Photography Studio

    Manarat Al Saadiyat’s Photography Studio offers budding and professional photographers an ideal space to create and showcase their work; featuring a large workshop area, digital lab and studio for rent. It hosts several community-driven events aimed at encouraging local, regional and international participation as well as developing Abu Dhabi’s artistic talent.
  • Art Gallery in Abu Dhabi

    This multi-disciplinary setting includes pop-up galleries and events where visitors can discover works by emerging artists as well as have an introduction into buying art; it’s also a way for residents to engage with the local art community and beyond.
Located in front of the UAE Pavilion

Visitors can also admire the Norman Foster-designed UAE Pavilion. One of the city’s most iconic buildings, this huge golden copper-coloured building represents the shape of sand dunes in the desert. Originally unveiled at the 2010 World Exhibition in Shanghai, it was then transported piece by piece back to Abu Dhabi and rebuilt on Saadiyat Island.
